The new Gaga and Bey video.

alpha plus

Got my DP fill tonight and this video is speaking to me; specifically, as a twisted interpretation of Brave New World. Mass-produced biology. Alphas getting their dose of hypnopaedic wisdom; I even see a stunted dark Epsilon in there. Must remember to investigate all Daft Punk videos for the existence of dystopian worlds and develop this idea further.

I have embarked on a mission to re-read all these classics I read as a kid and I’m discovering incredible meaning I missed the first time around (or was too young to understand). Neurons firing and whatnot. It’s all very interesting/stimulating. Started with Jane Eyre and just finished the above — maybe next Gone With the Wind? The Jungle? I’m taking suggestions.

let’s not kid ourselves here

I am only posting these upcoming shots from V Man because a) I’m too busy to write something tonight and b) think of the traffic! Inevitably, the teeny-boppers will figure out this isn’t _____ or _____ (fill in teen-read here… I am not going to date myself by trying to name something) and go back to their regularly scheduled programs.

Actually, there is another reason. This weekend I clicked on Justin Bieber (he was/is a trending topic on Twitter) and I still couldn’t figure out what he is famous for. However, in the 30 seconds after clicking on his name and reading through the posts (“What would you do if Justin Bieber were in the room right now? Kissss him!!!!!! AHHHHHA3ldheFGQQwu #$@%& @#$) another 101 new posts had already appeared. Talk about a feeding frenzy. Well, looks like Rihanna beat you all to it.

doll parts

I already posted about the doll makeup trend for SP10 and now we’ve got another throwback to younger days in the spirit of Courtney Love. In the upcoming V Magazine, Natasha Poly wears creepy doll crowns/parts/hair in a grungy-girly mix of layered ruffles, prints, and pearls. Panos Yiapanis, who styled the campaign, kept the makeup simple to provide a clean backdrop for the rough-and-tumble looks. As if Love needs any more press: though the exact release date has yet to be announced, “Nobody’s Daughter,” the fourth studio album by Hole, is set for release later this month.

This post is in honor of my favorite song-of-the-moment “Bad Romance” (or, according to Boyfriend, “that song where Gaga tries to speak French”). A bunch of friends went to the Lady Gaga concert in Boston this week at the Wang Center. Looks rad but never expected anything less. The Wang Center is an inspired choice for her; I mean, I used to watch the Nutcracker there every year. It’s a semi-intimate setting with fantastic acoustics and just a totally decadent space.

I would love to walk in Gaga’s (Alexander McQueen prehistoric insect) shoes for a day. I want to go here in the city but Gaga @ MSG sounds like my worst nightmares. OR my wildest dreams. Depending on the hour.
